The
Pavilion Indochine is an old traditional
wooden house surrounded by a beautiful garden.
As well as the 6 bedrooms in the pavilion there
4 new adjoining bungalows. A calm, tranquil,
exotic, and close family atmosphere will surround
you during your stay at the Pavilion.
All of the bedrooms are uniquely decorated
in the unmistakable Indochinese style. Each
bedroom has a double bed - or two singles on
request, an ensuite bathroom and air conditioning.
Every room has its own particular character
which is why the owners have named them after
famous books or films instead of the usual numbering.
We have a relaxation area with comfortable
bamboo furniture that is perfect for you to
recover after a day exploring the temples. Aperatifs
and cocktails can be served here if you wish.
Photo albums of the royal family, and numerous
books about the Angkor temples as well as the
history of Cambodia are at your disposal.
Our open air restaurant Le Mekong is close
by. The menu consists of Asian dishes and local
specialities - and it is also here where breakfast
is served.
The Pavilion Indochine is born of the imagination
of two French natives both married to Asian
natives. Frederic Amat, journalist and photographer,
covered the news of the Kingdom for several
years. He is also a writer and knows everything
there is to know about Angkor history. Frederic
Rieu, father of little Melissa, was a restauranteur
firstly in the Pacific and then at Phnom Penh,
before settling in Siem Reap. He is very knowledgeable
about Cambodia and is a source of valuable advice
and guidance for any planned excursions. Its
since their own extensive travels that the two
Frederics came up with the concept for the Pavilion
Indochine, described by the Lonely Planet as
'a splendid guesthouse' with a 'unique atmosphere'.
Situated slightly outside the small town Siem
Reap, Pavilion Indochine is
the closest hotel to the Angkor temples.
