From what I've heard, first and second hand, you'd be advised to lower your expectations a little. I think you'll be pretty lucky to find somewhere where you can work and get your food, accommodation and dives free. There are a lot of people who want to work as dive instructors in exotic locales (me for instance!) and who'd (and who) do it for free. Unsurprisingly this means the chances of being paid much are slim to low with, as Don King would say, slim being out of town.

Having said this though, you could luck out and find that perfect job if you search long enough and if you have enough money to set up your own dive shop it's a totally different scenario. On the whole though I think you'll have to be happy with subsistence level living if you plan to live of your diving.
