Answer :Before
you do anything else, get yourself a teaching qualification. Doing
the course will help you immensely when you start to teach and the
qualification itself will open lots of doors.
You have the opportunity to teach in a number of countries in Asia.
What I'd recommend, given your limited experience, is to go somewhere
where you can get a job very easily and build up a bit of confidence
in your teaching as well as pad out the C.V.(resume) You can then
move on if this place is not to your liking. The place I'm talking
about is Thailand. I went there originally to do just what I'm recommending
you do and ended up staying eight years. Although I've moved on
now and am working in Vietnam I may well go back at some point and
don't regret one second of the time I spent in Thailand.
Bangkok is where the work is, although not the
only place- check out Daves esl
café for more details along with the Bangkok Post website.
Try and take a little cash with you so you don't have to jump at
the first job offered and can set yourself up in a nice pad, having
a TEFLA means that you definitely shouldn't be looking at anything
under 30,000 Baht a month. Once you find your feet you'll be earning
more. This is enough to live very comfortably as long as you don't
go out drinking till the wee hours every morning.
