Answer :
Booking ahead, if only for one night, makes a lot more sense. I'm
a bit lazy and never seem to get round to it myself and end up on
a beach, sand in my shoes, sweating profusely, with a rucksack,
camera etc. traipsing around looking for somewhere decent to stay.
Far better to book just one night in advance so you immediately
have somewhere to shower, dump your bags and look round for somewhere
else (if necessary.)
It also saves any unnecessary worry on the bus/train/plane/boat
or whatever, "will I find a room? won't I?...what if everywhere
is booked up?) Mind you I'm such a worrier that if I have booked
somewhere I start worrying about whether they got the booking or
remembered or whatever. I'll find something to worry me!
In addition usually I believe it is cheaper if you book ahead.
I've heard tell of someone booking over the net for a night, liking
the place and then trying to book an extra few days and being told
that it would be more expensive than the internet price. It was
a ridiculous scenario where he had to walk next door to a internet
cafe and book the extra days from there and then walk back into
his room, job done! |
