Live? yes but not a hell of a lot else. It is enough but you
really are going to be living the cheap life. I know a lot of
Indians live of a lot less but unless you're prepared to live
off just "meals" (rice and what ever is in the pail-usually
a veggie curry) and thalis (a selection of dishes usually served
on a metal tray), stay away from the evil liquor, seriously limit
your traveling and avoid taxis like the plague etc., I'd try and
take a little more. If it's not possible then not a problem. You'll
live on what you have and have great time I'm sure. The other
alternative is to cut your trip a bit shorter thus giving yourself
more money per month / day. This is what I’d do but obviously
you’re not me. Suppose it depends on the kind of person
you are. I find being poor miserable but some revel in the challenge.
I used to know a guy in Bangkok who would save as much money as
he could, then take a nice long holiday and return to the city
ABSOLUTELY penniless and start looking for work again. Said he
loved something about the feeling but couldn’t put his finger
on it. I used to pity him when he got back living off guesthouse
credit and mama noodles but cuss him when I was at work knowing
he was on the beach somewhere.(Steve, if you’re reading
this get in contact)
