Bangkok Travel Tip: Entertainment - Bars

Question: Where are some good bars in Bangkok?

Answer : The Saxophone in Victory monument is pretty cool with good live jazz and blues and a healthy mix of Thais, ex-pats and tourists. You could also check out (transliterated as best I can) Barn my dang,-the red wood house-on thanon (road) Wippahwadi just next to soi (street) Chokechai Ruammit, which is also called Wippawadi 16 (sip-hok) for some folk/rock music. I saw Carabao there, pretty much Thailand's equivalent to Bob Dylan-great night. Also Soi Sarison next to Lumpini Park has some good, if smallish bars, mainly live jazz. If you want something a bit more dancy/ house then Lucifers was the in place when I left the city a year ago. It's in Patpong but is not seedy, in fact if you're not one of the young beautiful people with designer threads you might feel a bit out of place! It does have good music and good vibes though if that's your thang....
