Thailand Travel Tip: Krabi

Question: Where should I go in Krabi province Thailand?

Answer : Both Rai Leh and Ao Nang are great places with beautiful beaches. They are also both pretty popular these days and if you don't mind that then either will great beach Holiday. If you travel just a bit further though, to the island of Koh Lanta, you'll find things a bit less developed. Not incredibly so though. In high season Koh Lanta can get pretty busy. Conversely I visited off season and there was nary a soul on the island, and it's not THAT small. I stayed on the North West coast and had a great time. Nice people, great beaches and mopeding around the island was a lot of fun (I always find this the best way to really see a place, and you can also check out all the beaches/guesthouses on route and find the one that best suits you). They also have these huge monitor lizards that come out of the jungle to be fed...for your entertainment sir/madam. Don't know how you feel about that, I don't really think its akin to dressing up monkeys for tea parties but some may! Also Cobras. Not brought out for your entertainment but during the hot and dry season its not uncommon for them to sneak, or slither rather, down to some of the quieter guesthouses to find water. Usually from the toilets. So anyway at the very least you'll probably get to see some wild life! If you fancy somewhere a bit more remote then Koh Bubu is both smaller and quieter. I haven't been there myself so cannot really comment first hand, but I do know people who have, and they have only good things to say of it. You won't be staying in any grand opulent hotels there though as I understand it.
